How to use on your hair, body and skin
  • Squirt a small amount directly onto wet skin or onto a washcloth/sponge then lather and rinse well.

If using on your face often then use shea butter or your favorite moisturizer afterwards.

The natural plant based oils and synthetic free recipe makes this nourishing and very gentle on the skin but if you suffer with very sensitive skin it is recommended to patch test first.

  • Dilute 1tbsp of Castile soap in 1/2 a cup of warm water. Apply the diluted soap directly to wet hair, massaging it into the scalp and strands. Rinse thoroughly with water.

If desired a weak apple cider vinegar rinse. It is important to note that transitioning to a natural shampoo may require an adjustment period for the scalp to balance oil production.

  • You can use a squirt of Castile Soap in your bath as a bath soap, it won't bubble up but smells great and is effective.

Just make sure not to combine with Epsom salts.

When cleaning the bath afterwards it might be helpful to use white vinegar to rinse to make sure your tub stays clean and sparkly.

  • For makeup remover, fill a small jar or bottle half way with water then top off with Castile Liquid Soap, leaving a bit of room at the top to shake the mixture. Add 2 TBS olive oil and shake again. Pour a little on a cotton round, tissue or soft cloth. Gently wipe over eyes to soften and remove eye makeup then rinse with cool water.

    Shake well before every use.

  • For shaving lather, mix some Castile soap with warm water in the palm of your hand or in a shaving dish, lather on your skin and shave.

  • To wash your pet squirt the soap directly onto their wet coat, lather, wash and rinse well.

How to use for most general cleaning to replace multiple chemical based cleaners
  • For laundry use 1/4 to 1/3 cup of Castile soap in your load. For hard water or soiled clothes you may need to use slightly more. Great for delicates.

For spot stain removal add a squirt of Castile soap into a spray bottle or container of warm water and mix. Gently apply to the stain with a clean washcloth saturated in the mixture and rinse with clean water. For tougher stains you may need to leave it to sit for a while before rinsing.

  • To wash floors, add 6tbsp/3oz of Castile soap to a mop bucket of warm water.

  • For washing dishes apply a squirt directly onto the scrubber or sponge and wash then rinse well.

You can also add 1-2 tbsp to a sink of warm water.

For a dishwasher dilute by 50%.

To get glassware extra sparkly use a white vinegar rinse.

  • To make an all-purpose spray add a squirt of soap to a spray bottle of water and shake well. Low dilutions work well here so squirt sparingly.

  • To clean walls and wood add 1/4 cup Castile soap to 1 gallon warm water.  Wash your walls and woodwork with a smooth sponge or cotton cloth until clean and allow to air dry.

  • For cleaning make-up brushes pour a small amount of the Castile soap into a bowl. Rub your brush into the soap to create a lather.  Add a little water while you gently massage the bristles to loosen the make-up and grime on your brush. Rinse under cool water until all the soap is rinsed out and the water runs clear.

  • Add 1 Tbs of liquid Castile soap to a 24oz spray bottle filled with warm water and shake well. Spray generously/thoroughly over your plants, starting at the base but not neglecting the leaves and flowers. Go easy on your more delicate plants the first time you use this, to make sure they can handle having soap on them. (Option to add a tbsp of vegetable oil to help adhere to plant).

  • Castile soap can even be used as an ant repellent! Fill a clean spray bottle 95% of the way with warm water.Add the remaining 5% of the way with Castile Soap. Shake before use and liberally spray wherever you’ve seen ants (or where you suspect they’re coming in) for several days in a row. Do NOT use peppermint Castile as peppermint attracts ants.
